How to install TWRP recovery of Moto E

How to install TWRP recovery of Moto E

How to install TWRP recovery of Moto E - I recently saw how to access the recovery in Moto E, and the truth is that although it is an important tool to perform several advanced tasks on our device, is not the same make that comes preinstalled with a more advanced use. Therefore we want to show how to install the recovery of TWRP Moto E, in order to take advantage of its best features when it comes to get their hands on our phone.
How to install TWRP recovery of Moto E

Is that TWRP is a recovery that with the passage of time is becoming standard, in part because of its functionality touch that actually became so popular that even led to the emergence versions of CWM recovery (formerly the most popular) with support for touch screens.

Here we will modify essential part of running our phone, so it is always advisable to make a Nandroid or a backup of critical data (videos, images, music) in order to have them available in case something goes wrong. We will also need the Android SDK, enable USB debugging (between development options) and last but very important to have a battery charging at least 60 percent.

Now if we can start:

  1. Download the file recovery of TWRP.
  2. We turn off the Moto E, waited a few seconds and turn on in fastboot mode (by pressing the keys on Volume- and on and holding them for about 6 or 7 seconds).
  3. We connect the phone to our PC via the USB cable.
  4. We go to the folder where you have the Android SDK and open a terminal window (command prompt in Windows).
  5. We write (without the quotes, of course) "fastboot flash recovery.img".
  6. On the phone, which is in fastboot mode, we pressed to move and select Volume-recovery (by pressing Power).
  7. Moto E enters recovery mode, although for the first minute or two still will not have the functionality available touch, so be patient.
  8. Select the option reboot system now and thats it; next time we enter the recovery we will at TWRP.

How to restore the Moto X to its factory state

How to restore the Moto X to its factory state

How to restore the Moto X to its factory state - Android users we tested several custom ROMs tend to be exposed to a very serious problem that can leave us with a nice paperweight, and is the bricking your smartphone or tablet. Something that can happen accidentally if any problems occur, such as the end of the battery during the process of installing a ROM (why always recommend start with at least 60 percent of battery charge).
How to restore the Moto X to its factory state

If by some misfortune our Moto X does not start or is in boot loop, then the first thing we have to do is calm down to not start to try anything or worse, several at a time, and evaluate the correct procedures to follow to recover steps. The first thing that can help us and get us out of this trouble is to do a factory reset, a process that gives us our device to its factory state.

The first step towards this is to enter the recovery mode of the Moto X, which perform as follows:

  1. We turn off the Moto X.
  2. After a few seconds, we turn on, pressing the switch, volume- and starting and keeping pressed for about 3 or 4 seconds. Then let go.
  3. We will see the boot menu of Moto X, where we can move down to the volume-key and then select an option by pressing the volume +. We headed to the option and select recovery.
  4. We will see a logo of an injured android, and now we press keys and volume-volume + simultaneously for about 5 seconds, then pressed the button.

Now we enter the recovery mode we need to go to the option to wipe data factory reset and select it, and then do the same to wipe cache partition.
Finally, select reboot system now, and at the end we will have restarted our Moto X to its factory state.

Moto X 2nd gen to launch without simultaneous voice and data requires future Advanced Calling 1 0 update

Moto X 2nd gen to launch without simultaneous voice and data requires future Advanced Calling 1 0 update

Verizon Moto X 2014 DSC07000
Being an Android smartphone user on Verizon means you’re used to some of the finer things in life such as great coverage, getting nickeled and dimed for everything imaginable, and being able to use both voice and data at the same time. Simultaneous voice and data has been available on most Android phones by coming equipped with two separate radios and maintaining separate connections to the 1x and EVDO or LTE networks. Verizon’s upcoming Moto X (2nd gen), set to launch on September 26th, will handle simultaneous voice and data quite differently from previous Android phones.
Verizon’s new Moto X will be the first Android device that requires Verizon’s Advanced Calling 1.0 to enable simultaneous voice and data connections. Oddly enough, the Moto X is not launching with Advanced Calling 1.0 support and will require a software update that’s slated for later this fall. The new Moto X isn’t being singled out here, this change and requirement will be coming to future Verizon phones as well.
Moto_X_Verizon_Calling_Data_VoLTE_Leak
Verizon’s Advanced Calling 1.0 enables VoLTE (Voice over LTE), think VoIP for cellular networks. This means if you make a phone call while on Verizon’s LTE network, your phone will no longer use the CDMA connection to place the call. Your call will go out over the LTE data connection instead. Thanks to the bandwidth available on LTE networks, your phone has a large enough data connection for all of your voice and data needs. Besides simultaneous voice and data, Advanced Calling 1.0 also adds high definition voice calls, 1-way or 2-way video calls, and 6-way conference calls. Of course these features are only available if you’re in Verizon’s LTE coverage area and are using a Verizon VoLTE-enabled smartphone.
While this might be a bit disheartening if you’re an avid user of simultaneous voice and data due to a pending future update that enables this functionality, Verizon is headed in the right direction. This is all part of their grand scheme to do away with their aging CDMA network. This is the first step towards the future.

How to install TWRP recovery of the Moto G

How to install TWRP recovery of the Moto G - Just recently saw the launch of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Moto G, an official update is available OTA (Over the Air) and can be installed in the American variant of this model, but for those with the European variant or international, will have to wait a few more weeks as the update is coming. However, it is possible to enjoy the upgrade through a manual process, ie by installing the ROM.
How to install TWRP recovery of the Moto G

That if, as you know those who follow these pages, to install any ROM from recovery and we do so we must get unlock the bootloader, a step that we saw a few days ago. Lets see how to install the recovery of TWRP in the Moto G, so be ready to install a custom ROM with which we can enjoy several improvements that developers added.

The first step is to download the file containing the recovery, which we do from this link, or from this one. We keep it in a folder on our PC, making sure your name is recovery.img (without the quotes, of course). Now, we open a terminal window or system (Windows) and we have to run the following command, assuming fastboot tools which have already been installed to unlock the bootloader- are in the system path.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

The process is very fast, it does not take more than about 30 seconds at most, and at the end we will have installed TWRP recovery of the Moto G, which has gained much popularity in recent years thanks to being tactile buttons and thus big enough streamline the use of this part so important in using ROMs, kernels, Nandroids and formatting partitions.

CyanogenMod 13 Unofficial Moto G 3rd Generation

CyanogenMod 13 Unofficial Moto G 3rd Generation

Weekly selection
This week we have chosen to update the ROM to the rompeventas Moto G 3rd Generation and bring Android 6.0 as CyanogenMod 13. As we know the new version of CyanogenMod is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Unofficial CyanogenMod 13
Thanks to the XDA community have before it officially arrives, adapting Android Marsmallow for this device. Later we will see what kind of features are still in development, but first lets look at the requirements of the installation.
CyanogenMod 13 Unofficial Moto G 3rd Generation

Requirements for installation
Like any version of CyanogenMod, we will download the pack of gapps we want to get the experience of all applications of Google Play. Heres the link, well just choose our architecture, in our case 64 bits, the Android 6.0 version and gapps pack you want.

Link gapps (we recommend the Micro pack)
Link Builds (choose the most updated)

Of course to complete these steps need root permissions and custom recovery as TWRP.

First steps
For installation of the ROM need to follow these steps:

  1. After downloading the .zip and gapps that flasheamos, we will save on the external microSD card because when you delete the internal memory wipe and making our data safely we pass to step 2.
  2. Well, now, through an application or activation buttons recovery, the smartphone will restart in recovery mode.
  3. Once inside the recovery, in our case, we recommend using TWRP, we will make a full wipe (if we repeat the process, the better).
  4. After the install option by zip, we choose our microSD card the downloaded ROM file. Installation and wait to pass to the next step.
  5. Now in the same section of the .zip find gapps we download and store on the microSD and install. (If you do not install the gapps Google Play we will not have to run our smartphone 100%).
  6. Once installed, access to the menu to reboot and restart the system.
After this installation in case we were in CyanogenMod version 12, we recommend not downgrade directly to version 12 back. Thus we would have to do a full Wipe, as these ROMs work best with a clean install.

Possible errors found in this ROM
The developer of this ROM in its first release warned the bugs that were found but with our updates errors that remain are:
  • Some functions do not work CyanogeMod official.
  • In landscape mode you may have some visual bug.
In the beginning there are still many more errors but it seems the developer has been stepping up and brings a new update every week fixing and bringing some functions that were lost.

LED Will we?
Marshmallow Android came with good news for the users of this device. This new version we return LED operation.
There are no news and this latest version does not yet work, but hopefully this developer joins LED testing this device and we bring its functionality for new updates.

Ready to test the functions of Android M
This is where your work begins. This ROM brings many new features, including the principal "Doze" that allows us to manage battery consumption with more precision in our smartphone. To enjoy!

In this case we leave that investiguéis this new ROM and its new features. In addition we will leave the link of official development thread of this ROM to observe their development.

Next week we will bring you the Official version of CyanogenMod 13 for LG G3, our favorite device.

A greeting!
