Samsung CEO ‘Faster’ Galaxy S4 Being Prepped For Launch
Samsung CEO ‘Faster’ Galaxy S4 Being Prepped For Launch
Samsungs J.K. Shin, one of several of the companys CEOs, has confirmed in an interviewReuters that his company is preparing a faster variant of its Galaxy S4 in the near future, featuring support for LTE Advanced. Whats more, the new model could become available to some markets next month, and while the currently available versions of the S4 arent renowned for their lack of speed, its good to see Samsung continually looking to improve things.
Samsungs flagship Galaxy S4 is currently atop the pile in the Android smartphone field, with some 10 million consumers turning out to purchase the handset in its first month alone. But far from simply enjoying what has been a very successful release, Samsung has been busily preparing a host of other devices to broaden its roster, including the Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom, and finally, the Galaxy S4 Mini. Are the Korean giants calling it a night there, though? Of course not.
Well be the first with the commercial launch of the advanced 4G version of the smartphone, said Shin in conversation to Reuters. The company has been looking to secure deals with a bunch of non-U.S. carriers for the launch of this new device, which will push the boundaries of current 4G LTE.
While some consumer markets have yet to see proper 3G support, let alone 4G LTE, the work has already been done on stepping things up even further, with advanced 4G offering up to three times the download speeds of your typical 4G network.
Shin also took the opportunity to tell the world that the Galaxy S4 is selling faster than its predecessor, the Galaxy S III, but its not as if we didnt know that already. Despite some critics asking the question of why Samsung hasnt bothered to create a device with polished build akin to the iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia 925 or HTC One, consumers still seem happy with the current flagship.
On the topic of the faster Galaxy S4, Shin wouldnt disclose the cost, but did seem to imply that it would come at a premium compared with the standard model. Considering that the Galaxy S4 is one of the priciest devices available, the this advanced 4G model will be a specialist purchase, but well keep you updated should we hear anything more news on its availability.

See A Nexus 7 Being Shot Using A Powerful 50 Caliber Rifle VIDEO
See A Nexus 7 Being Shot Using A Powerful 50 Caliber Rifle VIDEO
Although we spend billions of dollars protecting our beloved gadgets with cases, wallets and covers, theres certainly something of a perverse pleasure in watching them get completely annihilated by fire, lava, or simply cracked beyond recognition in a drop test. The Nexus 7 is revered as one of the best value tablets on the market right now, and one YouTuber decided to see what the ASUS-made slab would look like after interaction with a .50 Cal round. The result, as you will see below, was not particularly surprising.
Of course, this video hits the sweet spot for us simple-minded menfolk with its inclusion of arsenal, a female, and a Google-branded gizmo. When pinned up and shot from a distance with a .50 caliber weapon, there was only going to be one real winner, and as robust and durable as the Nexus 7 isnt, the impact of the gunshot made it look about as flimsy as a water balloon.
The RatedRR Tech Assassins regularly entertain us with these kinds of videos, and although those of us wouldnt dream of taking a .50 caliber (or any any caliber, for that matter) firearm to our treasured smartphones and tablets, its definitely rather enjoyable seeing it happen to somebody elses.
At the end, you get to see the ravaged Nexus 7 (still in one piece, mind), returned to its owner, whos less than happy with what was a perfectly working tablet.
Since releasing last year, the Nexus 7 has been something of a revelation. Combining a very substantial processor, buttery smooth Android Jelly Bean and a price that appeals to most budgets, it is perhaps the best all-rounder currently available, and although its build quality is something of a caveat, you do get a lot of bang for your buck.
Just like all Nexus products, it does have a no-frills feel about it, but if you just want to experience Android in a fluid, unbloated fashion, its a tablet that really does tick all of the boxes.
Anyhow, check out the Nexus 7?s lopsided gun battle video in its entirety below, and if you have a heart for gadgets, then we recommend not watching it, and be sure to leave your comments via the usual mediums.
Thanks, Anderson for sending this in!
