How to update your Sony Ericsson w8 x8 Mobile Android version 2 1 to 2 3
Hi friends now you can update your Sony Ericsson W8/X8 mobile android version 2.1 to 2.3. If you update your mobile you can install the lot of apps from apps store and you can move your apps to the externel storage and yet you can use the lot of Android version 2.3 facilities...
Download these following files first:
1.super one click(For Root your Mobile)
2.Root explorer
3.Xrecovery
4.Ginger DX v21 customROM
STPS:
1.At first you want to Root your mobile . Rooting your mobile only give the Super user permission to the user.
(NOTE: Rooting your mobile break the warrenty. Dont get worry about this before u will give to the customer service you can unroot your mobile.)
Step 2:
Install the Root Explore app to your phone
Step 3:
Connect your mobbile to the pc
Mount the w8 to access the sd card
Create a foler named as XRecovery
Extract the xrecovery downloaded software into this XRecovery folder
The extracted folder has 3 files
Un mount your mobile
Open the Root explorer app
Goto sdcard -xrecovery -copy the three files one by one
Click the parent folder two times
Goto System->bin click the Mount R/W button and paste the three files into this folder one by one
Step 4:
Mount/connect your sd card to pc
Copy the GingerDX v21.zip file
Paste into your SD card
Unmount your w8
Switch off your mobile
Step 5:
Switch on your mobile
When you see the sony ericsson booting scree on your mobile click the BACK butoon multi times you can move to the Xrecovery file mode in your moble. its shows like following image
Click the volume up and down key for scrolling the option
First select the Back up and restore to back up your current android 2.1 version os
It will be stored on sdcard->xrecovery->back up
It will take some more time to back up
After complete the back up process you again com to the xrecovery main menu like showed on the above image then select factory reset(full wipe)
It will take few seconds to reset your mobile
Then you click install Custom ROM from SD card
Select the GingerDX v21.zip from sd card
Then it takes some minutes to install the Custom ROM after complete the process you will select Reboot option
Now the GingerDX romm will be open
Enjoy the use of GingerDX Rom
If you want to restore your old Android 2.1 version to your Mobile do the same process and select the Restore option from your Xrecovery back up and restore option
NOTE:Please do this on your own risk.. if you miss anything in rooting or installing X recovery or installing the ROM and brick your phone. I am not responsible.

Extact these super one click software anywhere in your system
Connect your mobile to the pc
Only give the CHARGING PHONE MODE
Then click the super one click from the extracted file
After opened the super one click just click ROOT button.If it ask something about Busy Box just click Yes
You will see - [not successful - is your phone software higher than 2.0?
Click yes wait few minutes the root will be success
Check whether any Super user app installed your phone if it is installed the root is success.Otherwise root is not success full continue the process again..
